In his collage-based sound and visual arts practices, Lee Noble explores the psychology of American fear. Using a peripatetic approach to image-making in the construction of his paintings, Noble combines different processes -- image transfer, xerox, sanding -- and materials -- flashe, oil, acrylic, gouache -- frequently sourcing imagery from b-movie fanzines and other analog archives that serve as fading documentation of the country's cultural underbelly.

Currently based in Minneapolis, Noble received his MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He attended the Mountain School of Arts in Los Angeles in 2017 and was a guest composer at EMS Stockholm in 2019. He has performed at venues and festivals including Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, Issue Project Room in Brooklyn, Sonihouse in Japan, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. He is the co-founder of Nightclub Gallery in St. Paul, Minnesota with Emma Beatrez.
